Qin Shi
Zhu Wenji
- Qin Shi #142
朱文濟 1
琴史 #142 2

The story of Zhu Wenji showing the Song Taizong emperor that the seven string qin could do everything the nine-string qin could do is related in Chapter 6 of Xu Jian's history. Zhu Wenji was also the teacher of 夷中 Yi Zhong. Yi Zhong, as the teacher of Zhi Bai and Yi Hai, could be considered the founder of the Northern Song's 琴僧系統 qin monk faction".

Qinshu Cunmu, Folio 3, #3, lists a handbook, Qin Zadiaopu, attributed to Zhu Wenji in the Song Chronicles, but it has no further information.

Zhu Wenji is also mentioned in QSDQ. See,

Folio 17, #37.
Folio 17, #45.

Zhao Yi said it was a good idea, Zhu Wenji considered it unacceptable. The emperor said, Wen Wang and Wu Wang each added a string. Why can I not also?....
