Zhao Mengfu

Zhao Mengfu (1254 - 1322) was a famous painter and calligrapher.
His attitude to qin is discussed in James Watt, The Qin and the Chinese Literati.
Some of his writings related to qin are in Qinshu Daquan. See
Zhao Mengfu's biography in Qin Shi Xu mentions an essay he wrote called Qin Source (琴原 Qin Yuan); it apparently expressed some disagreement with the ideas of Yang Zuan. This work is listed in Qinshu Cunmu as #149.
The biography begins as follows,
Somewhat more indirect, his calligraphy for the text of Qingjing Jing is in the collection of the Freer Gallery (see online image). And his painting East Hill of Dongting has the same theme as the melody Dongting Qiu Si. 3
