Illustration for the qin melody Chu Ge (Song of Chu)
Farewell my Concubine: Xiang Yu parts from Yu Ji
楚歌圖
霸王別姬
Painting and calligraphy by 陳滌 Chen Di 1
In the illustration, as Xiang Yu prepares to leave for his final battle, Yu Ji slits her throat so that he won't worry about her during the battle. Later, however, Xiang Yu loses anyway, then commits suicide himself.

The inscription over the illustration says,

霸王別姬癸酉年陳滌畫于塞北城,滨河新村,並記。
Farewell my Concubine, 1993, painted by Chen Di in Saibei Town
(near 長春 Changchun), Binhe New Village; also the inscription.
