The left column says, "Ming (repeat sign) painted (it)", followed by a chop saying "Wang Mingming". The next column says, "In mountains thinking of friends" (or "a friend"). I found this painting ca. 2000 at a shop in 琉璃場 Liuli Chang, Beijing. I had told the shopkeeper I was looking for paintings with themes connected to qin melodies. As usual, I was told they didn't have any such paintings. I looked anyway and when I found this one I told the shopkeeper it was just the sort I was looking for, then asked whether it might be possible for the painter to add appropriate calligraphy. The shopkeeper said he could do even better: he then got out a calligraphy brush, prepared some ink, then added the title himself.
